Project 365
So what is this project 365 I speak of, you might be wondering? The general idea is this: you take one picture, every day, for 365 days. The picture can be anything you want – it can be representative of how your day went, it can be of something you think looks pretty… the possibilities are endless. It’s a good way to get out and use your camera, and improve your photography skills (and photoshopping skills, if you are so inclined).
I heard about some people talking about starting 365 on livejournal and since I had just received a new camera for Christmas, I decided I wanted to start. Day 1 was January 1st and I’ve been pretty consistent about taking a picture a day ever since. Not every picture is perfect or even good… but I can already see a bit of improvements and I’m really enjoying the project so far.
In case you are wondering – I don’t have a fancy dSLR camera, I just use a point and shoot – an Olympus Stylus 840. Back when I was hoping for a new camera, the only requirements I had was that it have a decent zoom (it’s at 5x, which isn’t bad) and that it be pink. Lol, pink! How silly! Now I wish I had thought it through a bit more, and I have my heart set on getting a dSLR at some point… while I do like my camera, it’s a bit limiting.
Anyway, all of my project 365 pictures are up on Flickr, and I hope to start adding blog posts about my pictures as I take them. 🙂
Oh and if you’d like to donate to the dSLR fund, there’s a link on the right side of this site. Just, you know, in case you were feeling generous. :o)
